About Talk Show Live: San Francisco

What is Talk Show Live?
San Francisco is full of people with great stories to tell, and 429 Productions wants to match them up with audience members – like you – who want to hear them. We've created a unique new performance event that takes place in front of a live audience at the historic Purple Onion nightclub in
North Beach. Once a month, host
Kurt Bodden interviews performers, authors, business owners, politicians, artists, chefs ... intriguing people with something to say to a live audience. Plus, each show features a different "house band" drawn from the exciting Bay Area music community.
The audience is part of the show.
Come early, and stay late! We want you to meet the guests, the musicians, and the other members of the audience who share your interests. Before the show, enjoy the band’s warm-up set and grab your table. After the show, the music keeps going for the after-party, and we’ll mingle over drinks, music, and of course, conversation. We're all part of the show.

About Our Host:
Kurt Bodden is a seasoned improvisor and stand-up comic who brings wit, curiosity and experience to his Talk Show Live role.
About the Our House Band:
We're thrilled to feature our house band,
Ned Boynton and the North Beach Irregulars at each show.
About The Purple Onion:
Our monthly show is presented live at
The Purple Onion nightclub, one of San Francisco's most celebrated venues, a hub of music and comedy during the Beat era. Lenny Bruce, Woody Allen, Jonathan Winters, and the Smothers Brothers all performed at this intimate cellar club. Phyllis Diller and the Kingston Trio began their careers here.
