About the Purple Onion

The Purple Onion is one of San Francisco's most celebrated nightclub venues, a hub of music and comedy during the Beat era.  Lenny Bruce, Woody Allen, Jonathan Winters, and the Smothers Brothers all performed at this intimate cellar club.  Phyllis Diller and the Kingston Trio began their careers here.  It's an intimate space with less than 100 seats, perfect for Talk Show Live's mix of conversation, music and partying.  Beer,  wine and specialty drinks are available at your table in the club.  You can also enjoy dinner in the club from Caffe Macaroni Sciue Sciue's special menu that includes choice of a prix-fixe dinner, ala carte light supper (including pizza and sandwiches),  espresso drinks, and dessert.  Service starts downstairs at 7 pm and continues during the show.

The Purple Onion is located in the heart of North Beach, at 140 Columbus Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94133 (Columbus and Kearny Streets), downstairs from Caffe Macaroni Sciue Sciue.   There's on-street parking and three parking garages within sight of the club. Map It
