All good things must come to an end, and so it was with Talk Show Live: San Francisco! It was an incredible run, and our last show of the season -- to a capacity sell-out crowd -- was no exception. Guests Reny Ryan, Jack Boulware and Christian Cagigal shone. Reny was just as entertaining as advertised, tantalizing the enthusiastic audience with her tales from the wonderful (if somewhat XXX rated!) world of bikini waxing. Jack told us not just about his role in creating San Francisco's legendary writers' festival, Litquake, but filled us in about his upcoming book on the history of Bay Area punk rock. And we wound up with a truly mesmerizing performance (and baffling mind-reading demonstration) by Christan.
We had a wonderful time hosting dozens of terrific guests on the show -- and getting a chance to meet the equally fascinating members of our audience. The last show is always bittersweet for the staff, but we know we'll see you all again soon!
Our featured guests:
RENY RYAN
Brazilian body-waxer Reny Ryan is the author of Confessions of a Brazilian Bikini Waxer, a collection of stories from the depths of her waxing room. Filled with wit, laughter, and candor, Confessions offers a look into the lives of the women and men who, through this beauty-enhancing practice, change their lives (particularly their intimate lives), better themselves, and come out looking fabulous. The book was inspired by nearly a decade of serving an average of 1500 clients a year. Born and raised in Brazil, Reny -- who through the ups and downs of life defines herself as a “seasoned woman” -- possesses a refreshing outlook on life, beauty, self-care and what it means to be our best selves -- hairy or not.
JACK BOULWARE
Jack Boulware is an author and journalist, writing regularly for a variety of publications. He is the author of two nonfiction social history books, Sex American Style and San Francisco Bizarro, and has contributed to several anthologies. His newest book, an oral history of Bay Area punk rock, will be published by Penguin in 2009.He has traveled widely to write about subjects conventional and outré, from sumo wrestling and CD piracy to unexploded ordnance and the church of John Coltrane. He is co-founder of the Bay Area's annual Litquake literary festival.
CHRISTIAN CAGIGAL

Magician Christian Cagigal is an Artist in Residence at San Franisco's renowned independent theatre: EXIT Theatre. His show The Pandora Experiment premiered there in June 2007, received critical acclaim, and enjoyed many repeat runs until August 16. Cagigal has been involved in Bay Area theatre since 1998; first as a comic singer and actor working for companies like 42nd Street Moon and as a company member of the renowned political theater company The San Francisco Mime Troupe. Cagigal came onto the theater scene as a solo performer in the 2003 SF Fringe Festival with his show "Magic @ The Fringe", and received the coveted “Best of the Fringe” Award in 2004.
Cagigal received Theatre Bay Area Cash Grant Awards for the development of his next two shows in 2005 ("Magic @ The EXIT....cafe") and 2006 ("The 13 Steps") where his work began to take on darker tones as he further melded illusion and the theatrical experience into one.
